Final Assessment Photoshoot

Final Assessment

The day came...

The day I have been worried about came and went so quickly!
It was my day to create the design my partner gave me.
Here is how it turned out..

My heart nearly sank when I saw we had 7 minutes remaining and I had 1 eye of pearls and the lips to do! It really shows when you don't practice something in your design before the final test. I wont do this again! Overall I am happy with my application.

Eyebrow Blocking with historical Elizabethan make up

Glue and soap can do what?!
Is the exact question I blurted out when Sue informed us we could use these household products to block out our brows? WOW!

Here is my trial run with goof old Prit stick!

My overall application was not completely perfect but I am amazed at the potential this product has!
I am very excited to try this again and hopefully I am able to completely block the brows out!

My Partners Practice Run- My Design

My Partner practiced my design...

My partner executed my design brilliantly. She created the look I envisioned in my head and I am really impressed with how she did this with one trial! I do however, think she needs some improvements on the lips as she said herself. Hopefully she goes away from the trial and practices lip applications because it will really set her application skills higher!
Well Done Kerry!!

My Partners Design- Home Trial

For our assessments it's very important to continuously practice the designs we will be creating, whether that be in the studio or at home, Any practice is good practice!
Here are some images from my final practice run the night before my assessment!

I think this was my best trial, which is expected. As you practice your overall finished looked should grow and continue to get better. The only thing I was worried about with my design was the pearls around the eyes, I will not have practiced with them on the day of my assessment to its a very big gamble as i think it makes the overall look complete.

Day Of The Dead- Halloween Special!

Halloween Week!

Day Of The Dead Make Up

Halloween Selfie!

For Halloween week we had to create a sugar skull make up look.
My model was the fabulous George and his amazing beard! which was a bit of a problem for my application but he still rocked it!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and being able to take a break from Elizabethan make up and do this was great!

On Halloween Night I also got the chance to do some of my Flat mates make up..
Another Sugar Skull!

Elizabeth I-  No Eyebrows, Blocked Out.
My Design- Eyebrows, Normal and groomed.

Elizabeth- Pink Cheeks.
My Design- White Cheeks, No similarities however there is a design influence based on the white skin and the white cheeks I am doing

Elizabeth I- Light Contour.
My Design- Heavy contour in Pink shade No similarities. Design influence based on colour

Elizabeth I-  Red Lips
My Design- Red Ombre Lips- including black but are still similar.

Final Design, Final Trial, Notes and Product List

My New Elizabethan, By Charlee Baxter!

This is my final design- Similar to the previous post I have altered it slightly.
My idea is to create a 'Mask' of Elizabeth on my design. The white foundation around the edges shows Elizabeth's mask finally going and her true self coming out.
I have designed this look with a more Avant Garde feel to it.
My previous trial allowed me to see the strengths and weaknesses to my design, I have changed the original foundation I used from Kryolan to one of my own which I will provide the Make Up Artist with. I believe this gives my look a better finish with the product being matte.
I have also changed the lips from satin to matte. Matte was the main finish to all looks back in the Elizabethan era and I think keeping that will work well.
